According to IndiaMedToday, News Opinion IT Finance Strategy Innovation Interviews News Opinion IT Finance Strategy Innovation Interviews Search the archive Search News Opinion IT Finance Strategy Innovation Interviews Key Coverage Gut-health startup Guttify is expanding into select Tier 2 markets, identifying Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab for upcoming pilot initiatives during FY27.

The company is adopting a digital-first, demand-led approach, focusing on markets where it can combine product accessibility, reliable delivery and expert guidance to strengthen its consumer reach beyond metropolitan cities. The expansion comes amid growing consumer interest in digestive wellness and personalised health solutions. With concerns such as bloating, constipation and irregular bowel habits affecting everyday well-being, Guttify aims to simplify how consumers access gut-health insights and identify relevant wellness solutions.

The company has served more than 30,000 consumers and reported 67% quarter-on-quarter growth, driven by customer acquisition, product adoption and repeat purchases. It is working towards approximately 5x growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR), with customer conversion, repeat engagement and expansion into new markets forming key priorities. “Gut health is an everyday concern, but understanding where to start can be difficult for many people.

We want to make that first step simpler by bringing together accessible insights, relevant products and expert guidance in one connected experience. Our approach to Tier 2 expansion is digital-first and demand-led, with Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab among the states where we plan to pilot our approach,” said Mukul Shah, Co-founder, Guttify. Guttify’s ₹399 DIY Gut Scan Kit has emerged as an entry point for consumers exploring their gut health.

Between January and August 2026, the company sold approximately 15,000 kits, with around half of those customers subsequently purchasing products from its portfolio. The company is looking to build on this traction by strengthening consumer education, improving access through online and assisted-sales channels, and creating a more connected experience across at-home gut-health insights, product discovery and expert guidance. While Guttify is witnessing interest beyond metropolitan markets, it is continuing to develop its city-level reporting and has not disclosed a verified Tier 2 customer share.

Its expansion strategy will prioritise markets where demand and service readiness support a sustainable customer experience. The company also reported a repeat customer rate of approximately 40%, indicating continued engagement among a segment of its consumers. Guttify plans to use market-level performance, customer acquisition and repeat-purchase behaviour to guide its expansion decisions rather than commit to fixed revenue targets for individual regions at this stage.

Over the next 12 months, Guttify plans to expand its portfolio with products such as Poopie, its fibre-based constipation-support product, and RISE, its morning greens blend. It is also working towards a more connected customer experience that brings together gut-health insights, relevant products and expert guidance. Technology-led personalisation is expected to play a role in this roadmap, helping the company explore recommendations informed by customer-reported needs and responses.

As it scales, Guttify aims to maintain product quality, clear communication and dependable fulfilment while ensuring that wellness insights are not positioned as a substitute for medical diagnosis.
